Backlim
Backlim is suitable for the white asparagus cultivation but can also be grown as a green asparagus with late cultivations. The quality and production are good, making this the standard variety for heated crops.
Cultivation
Backlim grows well in well-drained soils with a planting density of 5 or 6 plants/m² and a planting depth of 18-22 cm for both green and white asparagus. If the plants are planted later, the harvest will be delayed. Backlim grows well on soils where asparagus has been grown before and can be harvested earlier by covering the plants with foil.
Plant properties
Backlim is productive and stays that way as the plant ages. The stems are straight, have little problems with hollowness and pink discolouration and the tip closure is also good. The variety is very tasty.
Disease and pest resistance
Backlim is not very sensitive to rust.
